Come join the NRB Network’s exciting Memorial Day celebration!
Our special programming kicks off at 3 p.m. Eastern time, with Donkey Ollie’s first animated movie, “Shipwrecked: The Adventures of Donkey Ollie.” Directed by Doug Aberle and Brian Stewart, this delightful children’s movie is animated in HD and features the loveable talking donkey, Ollie. When Donkey Ollie’s brothers are kidnapped and put aboard a trade boat bound for Italy, Donkey Ollie, the young shepherd Jehu, and Rupert the Raven contrive a plan to board the ship and rescue them. This clever, adventure-and-thrills-packed storyline is filled with songs and characters your children will love. “Donkey Ollie” was rated number one for children's animation by Google, Yahoo, and MSN search engines.
Then, at 6 p.m., watch “A Quiet Hope.” This is the stirring testimony of seven Vietnam veterans who talk openly about their experiences in the Vietnam War and its aftermath. Through their own words and tears, the vets discuss their healing processes and offer hope and healing through the love of Jesus, to other Vietnam vets and their families. Some of the speakers include Vietnam veteran and pastor Pancho Juarez and Calvary Chapel pastor Raul Ries. This 60-minute production, by the Raul Ries ministry “Somebody Loves You,” is a story you won’t soon forget!
At 7:30 p.m., discover the real, but forgotten story of our nation’s founding, in the American Heritage Series presentation “Blessings of Liberty.” Many modern-day historians tell us that our nation's Founding Fathers were a diverse group of atheists, deists, and political revolutionaries, but take a closer look into history and you'll find a different story: America's Founders were united by deeply held spiritual beliefs. How did their faith play a role in the ideas that birthed America? Discover the true story in "Blessings of Liberty."
Later, enjoy the amazing movie “League of Grateful Sons,” at 8:00 p.m. This presentation will bring your family a deeper understanding of the importance of godly fathers, as well as demonstrating such critical moral values as sacrifice, loyalty,
and other noteworthy Christian virtues. More than 406,000 Americans died during World War II, leaving an estimated
183,000 children fatherless. While hundreds of thousands of fathers did return from the war, tragically, some never connected with their children. But within the ranks of the survivors and the heroic dead, were a remarkable collection of men who made it their life mission to speak the providence of God and the meaning of manhood into the boys who would fill their shoes. Their thankful children have risen to honor and surpass their legacy. They are "The League of Grateful Sons."
The last of our special Memorial Day presentations, “Wounded Warriors,” airs at 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Marine Staff Sergeant Steven Williams, this powerful documentary presents the stories of three brave soldiers injured in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The wounded Marines give moving, first-person accounts of their heroism and sacrifice as they fought to defend the freedom of a nation. These awe-inspiring and thrilling stories will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Don’t miss this great lineup of fascinating and compelling stories, all beginning at 3 p.m. Eastern.
